Many people experienced unimaginable loss as communities along the Guadalupe River were overwhelmed and devastated by flooding. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn with the families who have lossed those they dearly loved. We are praying for families as they grieve, and preparing to walk with these communities as wherever we can help restore what was destroyed.
How to Volunteer
Are you looking for a way to help restore and strengthen families who are picking up the pieces and cleaning up the aftermath of the flood? Oak Hills is putting together teams to help families through this disaster. We are preparing people to serve on Disaster Recovery teams.
The first step is to attend a Disaster Recovery Training, which will provide safety and compassion training to prepare our teams to serve those in need. Training will be held at 19595 IH-10 West, San Antonio, 78256 and will last approximately 1 hour. Opportunities to serve will be made available at the trainings. Contact Sarah Lyons at 210-364-2655 for more information to serve with us.

Prayer Service
Oak Hills Church opened our Worship Center Wednesday, July 9, to lift up the communities who have been devastated by the flood. We prayed, lamented, worshipped, and read Scripture. We will continue to intercede on their behalf, asking God to be merciful, to comfort those who are suffering, and give strength in the moments when they feel overwhelmed with grief.
We know that God hears our prayers and has promised that we can turn to him when we are weary and heavy laden, and he will give us rest.
The Prayer Service will be shared in the coming days.
Caring for Families
There are many families who are part of our church family who live in Comfort and Kerrville that need us to walk with them through this difficult time. We are contacting every family to find out how we can help them overcome this disaster. Please let us know if you become aware of anyone in our church family who has been impacted by the flood. We are here to help and support them both spiritually and physically. Contact our Care Coordinator, Desiray Pool at 210-698-4693.
We will pray and prepare as God reveals ways we can support the Hill Country communities. Please continue praying that God will comfort and strengthen families. Additional Information will be provided as opportunities to serve develop.
